I am so beyond blessed to be a part of a large family with seven children. And some of my most favorite memories are all of us together during Christmas, it’s where so many of my core memories were made. And there is no place in my mind or heart where I could fathom all of that just being stripped away by no fault of our own. We all have been watching the families of NC/TN from afar try to piece together their lives, livelihood, homes, and families that in a blink of an eye were gone! We have been praying for them and sending hope and love, and anything else we could think of. But I just felt like that wasn’t enough, we need to do more, somehow and some way. Which is where the idea of us bringing Christmas and all of it’s Holiday cheer to them. So in that we have created Helene Can’t Stop Santa. It is a Toy Drive to help bring Christmas to the families affected by Hurricane Helene in both TN and NC. We are asking for donations of NEW ITEMS ONLY. We will be sending toys/specific items they asked for, and wrapping supplies so they can gift to their children directly.
We are accepting toys for all ages, everything new please. We also have some families asking for specific items, including clothing items with specific sizes to gift to their children.
Again, NEW CLOTHING WITH TAGS ONLY, and Please only send the clothing we have listed below. As we will be sorting and distributing items to specific locations. We want to be part of the solution, not add to their problem of unneeded items taking up space.
We are donating to several specific families who are trying to piece a Christmas together for their family all while having absolutely nothing, including a home. So we are trying to meet those needs as specifically as possible. Some of those families are looking for Christmas decorations, stockings, and more, so we will try to keep the list up to date. Many of them will need wrapping supplies; wrapping paper, scissors, tape, name tags (all new please).
We will also be accepting monetary donations to help with the UHAUL rental, gas, lodging, and anything extra will go directly to purchasing items for the families’ needs.
